PAUL SIGNAC, "PARIS: PONT DES ARTS WITH TUGS" SIGNED ORIGINAL - $20K APPRAISAL VALUE!
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Original etching and aquatint depicting two tugboats moored at the side of the Seine river under the Pont des Arts in Paris, signed lower left on the plate "Signac". Matted and framed without glass. Executed in 1927 for the "Dix Peintres au XXe Siecle" (Ten painters of the 20th century) portfolio and issued in an edition of 250.
This composition was the last print made by Paul Signac. It is within its original frame and matting. Besides being signed on the plate, the matting is also signed ‘Signac’ on the bottom right and has a small inscription in French on the bottom left, both written in pencil.
Paul Signac, French (1863-1935) was a French Neo-Impressionist painter who, working with Georges Seurat, helped develop the Pointillist style.
