Silver Plated Pot Holder (13 oz) Height: 2 in, Diameter: 9 in, Interior Diameter: 7.5 in
This wonderful piece is silver plated and made by the Derby Silver Company. The Derby Silver Company was one of the initial companies that made up the International Silver Company. The pot holder is meant for carrying a bowl or pot of food and displaying it on the table. Its elevation prevents the potentially hot item from burning the table. The handles are intricately foraged and the body is hand hammered. Even the feet have a nice design. It is stamped with the company mark behind one of the feet. The piece dates circa 1898 and is in fine condition for its age.
