Richard Artschwager Unique ALS Cursing of Wife Almost Dying - APR $70k w/ COA!
Description
An extraordinary and crazy letter from million dollar artist, Richard Artschwager. He confides in his very close friend in this highly personal letter that was returned to Artschwager in the mail then hand delivered. In the letter, Artschwager curses as he details the account of his wife's accidental near death experience. This letter is one of a kind and extremely unique, more were searched for high and low, but no other correspondences of his were found.
About the artist: Richard Artschwager was described as a genius in pop, minimal and conceptual art. People called him an enigma so often that the word stuck to him like a middle name. After receiving a BA in 1948 from Cornell University, New York, he studied under Amédée Ozenfant, one of the pioneers of abstraction. He began his career in the 1950s as a carpenter then after a ruinous workshop fire at the end of the decade, he began making sculpture using leftover industrial materials and created furniture-like sculptures, then would expand into painting, drawing, site-specific installation, and photo-based work. His work has sold for over 1 Million dollars wholesale on auction (The artwork shown above in images sold for $1,100,000). 50 years on Mr. Artschwager’s art is still doing its enigmatic thing.
