Item Description
'Walking Bass' depicts a musician absorbedly playing his bass. This artwork, while experimenting with techniques of figuration remains reminiscent of an abstract style with a predominance of red, blue and purple colors.
Romare Howard Bearden (1911- 1988) was an American artist and writer who depicted African-American life. He worked with many types of media including cartoons, oils and collages. His life and art are marked by exceptional interests, including music, performing arts, history, literature and world art.
'Walking Bass' was made in 1979 in limited edition of 175 graphic prints (the current edition is 35). The width is 22 inches and the height is 32 inches. It also signed at the bottom left of the picture.
