A beautiful large scale giclée print by prolific Chinese artist, Hua Chen. In modernist abstract style, Chen depicts a portrait of a young woman dressed in elegant fashion; the floral motifs in her dress and hat blend perfectly with the abstract and geometric motif on the background. This item is in excellent condition, signed ‘Hua Chen’ in golden paint on the bottom right corner, and is professionally framed with a white mat in a golden wooden frame.
Hua Chen was born in 1952 in Shanghai, China. He is best known for capturing the timeless beauty of music and the female form in his signature, ethereal style. Chen attended the Anhui Teacher’s University in Anhui, China from 1973-1976 where he earned a bachelor’s degree in fine art. He continued his education at the Central Institute of the Fine Arts in Beijing, China, where he earned a master of fine arts degree in sketching, watercolor, and oil painting. Chen paints in a delicate style, covering the spectrum of female figures and temperaments without being overly provocative. His figures are ethereal, subtle, and ageless, floating within layers of calming pastels.
