This letter written by actress Mary Pickford is signed and dated January 29th, 1957. The letter is addressed to comedian Jack Benny, thanking him for being able to join the National Entertainment Committee for the celebration of comedian Eddie Cantor's birthday in Miami. Mary expresses her admiration for Eddie but ultimately states that she is unable to attend the celebration.
The letter reads: "Dear Jack: It gives me much happiness to join the National Entertainment Committee for the celebration of Eddie Cantor's birthday. I have long been an admirer of his, realizing, as we all do, what a great humanitarian he is and how much he has contributed to the stage, screen, radio and Television with his inimitable comedy and humor. Please extend to Eddie and his family my heartfelt good wishes for his continued health, happiness and success. I regret that I will be unable to attend the birthday party in Miami. Buddy joins me in affectionate greetings to you and Mary. As ever, Mary"
The letter is signed by Mary Pickford in turquoise ink and typed in her very own turquoise bordered letter paper with her name as the emblem letter header.
