GENE MAUCH ONE OF A KIND ORIGINAL SIGNED MLB TOPPS BASEBALL CARD CONTRACT - $3K APPRAISAL VALUE!

It's difficult to believe a player earning thousands a year agreed, just about 35 years ago, to accept $5 on the spot, with a $250 annual payment for as long as he's an active member and player of Major League Baseball and an additional $75 for extending the contract an additional two years, for the licensing of their image. Gene Mauch was a prominent figure in Major League Baseball (MLB) known for his long and distinguished career as both a player and manager. He began his MLB playing career as a middle infielder with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1944. Over the course of his playing career, which spanned from 1944 to 1957, Mauch played for several teams, including the Dodgers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs, Boston Braves, and St. Louis Cardinals. While Mauch had a modest playing career, he found greater success as a manager. He managed several MLB teams during his career, including the Philadelphia Phillies (1960-1968, 1975-1981), Montreal Expos (1969-1975), Minnesota Twins (1981-1982), and California Angels (1985-1987). He is most well-known for his tenure with the Phillies. Mauch was known for his baseball acumen and strategic thinking. He guided the Phillies to their first-ever National League pennant in 1980, although they ultimately lost to the Kansas City Royals in the World Series. His teams often had competitive seasons, and he was recognized for his ability to get the most out of his players.
