1864 SALLIE E. MOORE'S LOVE&DEATH DIARY, LETTER AMIDST CIVIL WAR- $5K APPRAISAL VALUE
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This personal journal contains a letter and special love notes written by Sallie E. Moore to her husband Walter B. Haldeman during the time of the Civil War. Sadly, he died just two years after they got married. There are 24 pages of her personal thoughts and diary entries. These pages contain sweet notes Sallie wrote to remember her late husband and also talks about "Masters," which reminds us of the time before slavery was ended in 1865. The dates on these documents go from 1864 to 1876, a period when slavery was happening and eventually abolished, and when Sallie's husband was in the war.
