ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This is a really nice letter from Dr. George Macaulya Trevelyan. He often wrote in support of the Whig Party, a significant British political group from the 17th to the mid-19th centuries. In this letter, he wrote to a friend on November 18, 1948, using his official letter paper. He was explaining that a particular book wasn't available, but he promised to get another copy when he visited. He apologized sincerely and wrote a friendly letter on his official paper with some notes and his signature. He also added on the back: Dear Mr. Ritchie, yes, July 11th will come in very handy, yours faithfully (Gm Trevelyan), with your name there. This is a valuable letter from a famous historian who had a significant impact on literature and English history and it comes with a photo of Macaulay himself.
