1.5 x 3.5" slip of lined paper signed in black pen ink by baseball legend Joe DiMaggio. Partial writing in blue pen ink on the back illustrates what appears to be records of expenses and monetary values. Additionally, it appears to have been written on the same day of the autograph: October 17th/18th at 1:00pm situated in a New York City restaurant on 48th street and 5th avenue. Autograph slip possibly cut from larger sheet of paper with remainder of missing information.
Joseph Paul DiMaggio (November 25, 1914 – March 8, 1999), nicknamed "Joltin' Joe" and "The Yankee Clipper", was an American baseball center fielder who played his entire 13-year career in Major League Baseball for the New York Yankees. Born to Italian immigrants in California, he is widely considered one of the greatest baseball players of all time, and is perhaps best known for his 56-game hitting streak (May 15 – July 16, 1941), a record that still stands.
